Kristin Cavallari and Stephen Colletti launched their Back to the Beach podcast on Tuesday, a podcast where stars review and discuss Laguna Beach: The Real Orange County.
Kristin revealed in the first episode of their Dear Media podcast how much they earned during the first season of Laguna Beach, filmed in 2004 when they were both in high school.
Kristin, 35, said he was around $2,500 for the first season, which was an 11-episode season, with Stephen, 36, revealing he and Lauren Conrad renegotiated for season two.

Kristin said, “I think $2,500,” on the podcast, via Variety.
“I don’t even think it was that much. I think it was $2,000. Lauren and I have renegotiated for season two,’ Stephen said.
Adding: “It was going to be our last season!” We were like, ‘We got out of here!’
The show ran from 2004 to 2006 following high school students at a high school in Laguna Beach, California.

The students centered on the show were Lauren, Stephen, Kristin, Lo Bosworth, Trey Phillips, Talan Torriero, Morgan Olsen, and Christina Schuller.
Stephen was at the center of a love triangle between himself, Lauren and Kristin.
Stephen and Kristin dated in high school before going their separate ways.
The show led to another successful spin-off, The Hills, which centered on Lauren before she left the show and followed Kristin during their time in Los Angeles.
Their Dear Media podcast has been ordered for 40 episodes, with the two reality TV stars rewatching their show and chatting – 18 years after it first aired.

During the first episode of the podcast, Kristin also opened up about how competitive she felt to be on the show.
“Honestly, I would have done it for free. Back then in high school, for me, it was more of a competition,” Kristin said.
‘Everyone wanted it and I was like, ‘I’m going to have this show!’ I’m super competitive, that hasn’t changed. So when they told us they were going to pay us, I was like, “Oh my God, great!”
They recounted the selection process to take part in the show, revealing that MTV producers asked them questions like who they thought would be the prom queen and also for them to each list their best friends at school. and what they hate about them.
Kristin recalls writing, “I don’t know, I don’t care as long as it’s not Lauren Conrad.”
According to the outlet, the school did not allow filming on location after the Super Bowl halftime scandal with Justin Timberlake and Janet Jackson, leaving filming only on weekends.
Sitting down and watching the show 18 years later, Kristin said: “I think it’s going to be fun to go back and relive it, although I’m not going to lie, I have a little d anxiety about sitting down and watching those years,” Kristin said.
Stars: “It hasn’t always been the easiest for me. I don’t feel like I’ve been portrayed in the best light or accurately… There have only been a few times where I felt like they really enhanced our relationship. Those moments, I was like, ‘Thank you! That was us. That’s cute and that was fun,'” Kristin added.

Kristin has three children with ex-husband Jay Cutler: Camden, nine, Jaxon, eight, and Saylor, six.
Kristin and Jay tied the knot in 2013 after dating for three years – they announced their split in April 2020; their divorce was finalized last month after 10 years together.
During the podcast, Kristin opened up about their first meeting after ten years of not seeing each other in 2020; this took place after she separated from ex-husband Jay Cutler.
She hinted during the podcast that he and Stephen may or may not have kissed; they took a photo of their encounter and she shared it on her Instagram in 2020, making it her most Instagram-like photo.

Kristin’s resume after her time on MTV includes acting roles, her own E! The docuseries called Very Cavallari from 2018 to 2020, as well as her clothing and jewelry brand Uncommon James.
Stephen was a VJ on MTV’s Total Request Live before launching his acting career – he starred in One Tree Hill from season four until the show ended after season nine.
He was also a writer/editor/producer and star of the comedy series Everybody’s Fine with former One Tree Hill bandmate James Lafferty.
The series debuted on Hulu in January 2021.
