Prince Harry, Meghan Markle’s Awkward UN Video Goes Viral

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s body language at the United Nations has gone viral in the latest example of the scrutiny the couple are facing in public.

The Duke of Sussex was at the UN General Assembly in New York on July 18 to deliver the opening address for International Nelson Mandela Day, against the backdrop of a series of explosive excerpts from a new biography hostile.

Revenge: Meghan, Harry and the war between the Windsorsby Tom Bower, was serialized in a British newspaper The temperature ahead of its July 21 release date.

However, Harry put his allegations of royal tensions and palace fury behind him by telling delegates the African continent was where he realized Meghan was his “soul mate”.

The Duke warned that “our world is on fire again” due to climate change and said: “From the horrific war in Ukraine to the rollback of constitutional rights here in the United States, we are witnessing a global attack on the democracy and freedom…the cause of Mandela’s life.”

After the speech, Twitter users flocked video footage of Harry and Meghan in their place at the General Assembly.

Some seemed to suggest Harry tried to pull his hand away, but Meghan clung to it.

The episode is the latest in a long line of examples of Harry and Meghan’s public interactions and appearances coming under intense scrutiny.

Body language experts are regularly called upon to read how the couple present themselves publicly, including during the platinum jubilee in June 2022, when a specialist, Judi James, said The Subway Harry was “displaying several signs of anxiety”.

Whatever is going on for Meghan and Harry at the UN, public appearances can be hard to read from afar as there is always so much the media and the public don’t know.

The Duchess of Sussex underlined this challenge during her interview with Oprah Winfrey when she discussed an appearance at the Royal Albert Hall in London, in January 2019, the day she told Harry she was having suicidal thoughts.

“We were supposed to go to this event at the Royal Albert Hall, and a friend said, ‘I know you don’t look at the pictures, but, oh my God, you look so beautiful’ and sent it to me,” said said Meghan. “And I zoomed in, and what I saw was the truth of what that moment was, because right before we had to leave for that, I had just had that conversation with Harry that morning, and it was the next day that I spoke to the institution [about her mental health].”

“This photo, if you zoom in, what I see is how tight his knuckles are around mine,” Meghan added. “You can see the whiteness of our knuckles, because we’re smiling and doing our jobs, but we’re both trying to hold on. And every time those lights went out in that Royal Box, I cried and he hugged me. the hand.”
