- Bryson DeChambeau played alongside former President Donald Trump at Thursday’s LIV Golf pro-am.
- DeChambeau came out of the round impressed with the 45th President game.
- “He’s got a strip down the middle of the fairway and has a good iron game and the putt pretty well,” DeChambeau said.
Bryson DeChambeau left his round of golf with former President Donald Trump rather impressed.
“He’s actually a pretty good golfer,” DeChambeau said of the now 76-year-old Trump, per Golf Week. “He strikes it down the middle of the fairway and has a good iron game and putts it pretty well.”
DeChambeau and Trump were playing together at Thursday’s pro-am ahead of LIV Golf’s upcoming event at Trump’s course in Bedminster, New Jersey.
Joining DeChambeau and Trump were Trump’s son, Eric, and fellow pro LIV, Dustin Johnson.
“It was an honor,” DeChambeau said of the round. “I mean, every time you play with a president, whether he’s passed or sat, it’s just an honor no matter who it is. Very lucky to have a relationship with him, and he always has been generous with me.”
Trump doesn’t lack confidence in his game, as DeChambeau said Trump told him, “there’s no other president who can hit him like me.”

While Trump’s swing might not be the prettiest in golf, it’s quite effective, as he moved the ball well on the course throughout his game Thursday.
One thing about his game that was ineffective: his use of the golf cart.
